Let's Have a Tea Party

Updated: Feb 10, 2022

I don't know about you, but over the last few days I have felt even more tired than usual. Perhaps it is from losing an hour of sleep due to the time change, or perhaps it is simply from the ongoing pandemic. In any case, I have been thinking of ways to pick myself up, and to refresh and restore. I came up with a couple of my favourite tried and true strategies.

First: Why not have tea party? Just think, fancy tea cups filled with steaming yummy tea with cookies on the side. Invite a family member to join you, or maybe do it virtually with a friend over Zoom. Why not? Below is a Lemon Ginger Tea Party Ritual I came up with for an e-book I wrote last year. It is inspired by and for children, but certainly works just as well for adults!

Bonus: Lemon Ginger Tea is great for the digestive system, and it settles and restores the nervous system too.

Take 15 ⏰....sink into the bliss of a guided meditation.

Second: Have you ever tried Yoga Nidra or enjoyed the restorative effect of a guided meditation? I encourage you to try this audio recording created by a yoga teacher friend of mine. This Yoga Nidra practice is intended to help bring relaxation to the whole body. Find release, relaxation and purpose while calming the mind and body. Please note there are various pauses throughout the meditation, allow yourself to appreciate the silence.
